Chocolate Brownie Chunks with Chocolate Dip

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate broken into chunks
  • 100g milk chocolate broken into chunks
  • 85g butter
  • 100g light muscovado sugar
  • 85g dark muscovado sugar
  • 3 eggs at room temperature and lightly beaten
  • 140g plain flour
  • 140g walnut roughly chopped
  • 200ml natural yogurt

Method

  1. Set your oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 6. Prepare a 20cm square shallow baking tin by lining its base with baking parchment. In a heatproof bowl placed over a pan of simmering water, melt 100g of the dark chocolate, all the milk chocolate, and the butter. Take the bowl off the heat and mix in both sugars. Allow it to cool slightly as you gather the remaining items.
  2. Combine the beaten eggs with the chocolate mixture. Next, fold in the plain flour, the chopped walnuts, and a pinch of salt until everything is thoroughly incorporated. Transfer this batter to your lined tin. Bake for 25-30 mins. it is ready when a skewer inserted comes out with sticky crumbs attached. Let the brownie cool completely within the tin.
  3. To make the accompanying dip, gently melt the rest of the dark chocolate using the same method over simmering water. Stir this melted chocolate into the natural yogurt until smooth. Place the dip in the refrigerator to chill. When ready to serve, slice the cooled brownie into chunks and present them with small bowls of the chilled chocolate dip.
