These cheesy, spicy naans are a speedy side dish, ready in just 15 minutes. Topped with melted cheddar, fresh chilli and coriander, they make a perfect accompaniment to a variety of Indian main courses. An ideal choice for a buffet, dinner or starter.

Cheese & chilli naans

Ingredients

  • 4 naan bread
  • 140g cheddar finely grated
  • 1 red chilli deseeded and finely chopped, or half tsp chilli powder
  • good handful chopped coriander

Method

  1. Set your oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5.
  2. Lightly sprinkle the naan breads with water.
  3. Cover each bread with the finely grated cheddar and chopped red chilli.
  4. Place the naans directly onto the oven racks and bake for 5 mins until the cheese is fully melted.
  5. Take them out of the oven and scatter over the chopped coriander.
  6. Slice each naan into quarters and serve immediately.
