This is a favourite recipe for feeding guests, ideal for pleasing even the most particular of relatives. The braising steak is coated in seasoned flour and browned before being simmered slowly with onions, carrots and Guinness stout. The result is tender meat in a thick, flavourful gravy. It is traditionally accompanied by mashed or boiled potatoes, and pickled beets make a wonderful optional side. The entire process takes just over an hour and a half of cooking time.
